Kitchen-view-whatsonthelist-loveCan you FEEL the love In My Kitchen January 2014?

I would honestly love to know where time went this year?

Not that these time clock cookies are In My Kitchen January 2014, but I sense time went as quickly as Sarah’s New Year Confetti Cookies from Repeat crafter Me would go too!
New-Years-cookies-whatsonthelist“I AM A TRUE BLUE AUSSIE APHRODISIAC!!!,” Chef Georgio heard me YELL from the kitchen the other day!

I would say it was selective hearing, but Chef Georgio had his ears tested JUST the other day too! lol

What I WAS excited about is how Herbie’s True Blue Aussie Spice Kit and Herbies Aphrodisiac Spice Kit “magically” made their way In My Kitchen January
2014
.

“What’s in the Herbie’s True Blue Aussie Spice Kit and Herbie’s Aphrodisiac Spice Kit?,” I “hear” you say?

“Six Australian grown spices (lemon myrtle leaf ground, bushman’s pepper pot, native barbecue, wattleseed, Aussie Fish SeasoningΒ and Forest Berry Herb also called Strawberry Gum), with 8 recipes for making Bronzed Aussie Chicken, Bushman’s Grill, Crispy Prawns with Lemon Myrtle, Raspberries with Forest Berry Herb, Chocolate Wattleseed Mousse with Lemon Myrtle Cream & more.”

“Contains; Six aphrodisiac spices (Chilli Lover’s Spice, nutmeg, cardamom, saffron, Tunisin blend and cumin), teamed with reputed aphrodisiacs like oysters, olives, artichokes and figs in recipes for making Oyster Soup, Bruschetta with Artichoke puree, The Bird Stripped Bare, Pears with Saffron Jelly, Mussels and Spices Figs – in a sexy red box.”

Are YOU now AS excited as me being a “A TRUE BLUE AUSSIE APHRODISIAC???

Herbies-spices-whatsonthelisI have declared 2014 the Year of Chocolate and the Year of BIG Things!

Celia has inspired me with all of her wonderful chocolates, chocolate making and chocolate tutorials, and Tempering chocolate with the Thermomix is now “on the list!”

In case you missed my delayed A Very Merry Christmas Happy 1st Blog Anniversary, there was a brief mention of a Celebratory Cake.

Out with the old, in with the new, I was (and STILL am!) excited about sharing my 1st Blog Anniversary Celebratory Donut Cake — Chocolate Bavarian Cream with Chocolate Ganache with you!

The chocolate ganache was made in my Thermomix, saving me time and money too!

I had some ganache left over after the Donut Cake was done and after Chef Georgio and I had our fill of tastings ALL day! lol

So with these chocolate stencils In My Kitchen January 2014, I decided to play!
Chcolate-heart-shape-whatsonthelist Chocolate-shapes-whatsonthelist Chocolate-donut-cake-whatsonthelistI “may” have let the cat out of the bag (so to speak) in declaring 2014 being the Year of BIG things! lol

SOMEONE’S special birthday is coming soon and the BIG Birthday cupcake cake is already in the planning stages as we speak!
Cupcake-moulds-whatsonthelist I know it might “sound” simple, but a rectangular tart has been “on the list” to do!

Now that the mold has made it In My Kitchen January 2014, I have lots of choices of making a wonderful tart from scratch!

I hope you are AS excited as me discovering what did I choose and why re
the recipe!
Tart-pan-whatsonthelistI blame my dad (affectionately) for this next “gadget” (for a lack of a better description) in making this In My Kitchen January 2014.

When I was little in New York and visited my dad at work on Wall Street, there was a store called John’s Bargain store.

It JUST dawned on me, my dad’s name is John…did HE own the store too?

On his lunch hour, we would walk to the store hand in hand and “as a special treat” I could pick out one thing to buy…..but um, well, gulp…“don’t tell your mother!” lol lol

OK, I was spoiled rotten and was the apple of my dad’s eye…there I said it…and now you know too!

I am a sucker for infomercials!

Remember my fascination with Ginsu knives and their 50 YEAR warranty in Dear Thermalina is Thermomix REALLY for Me?

Needless to say, this Egg Easy made its was In My Kitchen January 2014!

“Does it work?”, I “hear” you ask?

I will update you in next month’s In My Kitchen blog post…look forward to what with the Easy Egg I do!
Egg-gadget-whatsonthelistI get these strange thoughts in my mind out of no where, especially with all things food!

I think it has to do with all the chats in the kitchen with Julia Child and Marco, Marco, Marco (Marco Pierre White) like while making my Dark Chocolate Apricot plum Amazing Babka Bites.

I have always wanted to make Cream Horns!
Cream-horn-whatsonthelistWhy?

I have no clue!

The instructions “suggest” they are “simple” and it will give me another excuse to make Puff Pastry and Cream via my Thermomix! A couple of these beautiful tagines made their way “magically” In My Kitchen
January 2014 too!

I can’t wait to make a Moroccan feast entertaining for Chef Georgio and friends!
Moroccan-tagine-whatsonthelistLove them or hate them, this Williams Sonoma Fall themed bread mold made its way In My Kitchen January 2014.

These molds (and unique products) bring back many wonderful childhood memories of other people cooking and baking as I grew up in New York around Old World Italian and Old World Greek families.

I “sense” a Pumpkin Bread “may” be coming via a blog post soon!

Do you LOVE it as much as me?
Thanksgiving-cake-whatsonthelist.mouldNo, this is NOT Frederick Charles “FreddyKrueger‘s relative from A Nightmare on Elms Street film series!

It is a reminder to me that Australia Day is right around the corner and am planning to share a “unique” Australian recipe!
Australia-Day-whatsonthelist-maskLastly, In My Kitchen January 2014 is my Recipe for love…

I do hope you enjoy it too!

As my kitchen is the heart of our home where MANY wonderful memories are made, recipes made with love and I STILL have chats on a regular basis with Julia and Marco, Marco, Marco too!

I do hope to meet Marco, Marco, Marco in “real life” enjoying a “real” conversation one day too!

It is on my ULTIMATE foodie dream list to do!

  1. Wow what a full kitchen you have – I love that bread mould – how creative is it! And I love herbies spices (though I have never claimed to be a true blue aussie aphrodisiac – hilarious) and good luck with all your plans for cakes and breads (esp if you have heat like ours at the moment in Melbourne)

  12. Year of chocolate sounds excellent to me! Although, why limit ourselves to just one year? πŸ˜‰ I am also giggling at the “true blue Aussie aphrodisiac” line and think it’s one we’d all do well to shout out every now and then, just to see what reaction unfolds! Thanks for the peak into your kitchen.
