Are Your Curious If The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow?

For those who have been following the world weather news, Adelaidians recently woke up to “the coldest day in 126 years” with the temperature “reaching” .9 Celsius (33.6F)

While I know our winter is in no comparison to New York or Canada where I have been told (and experienced) below zero temperatures!

You know it’s cold, when my duvet suit comes out with its inbuilt nose warmer!

As a friend of mine pointed out, it must be a cold day “as I can’t even see your smiling face!”
I was starting to feel like an Eskimo; another friend mentioned I looked like one!

I started to wonder will the sun ever come out again and like with my stories behind foods, I am one of “those” people who LOVE musicals and songs can always “warm the cockles of my heart!”

So I started to sing, um, well, gulp, “try” to sing THAT song…you know the one about a red head little girl name Annie hoping “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow!”

Then I remembered the wonderful video 80yearsofhappy I recently saw and shared based on Pharrell Williams song Happy.

And THEN it happened this morning!

Please note, I am not usually one of THOSE people who “spring out of bed, “bubby and bursting with energy” (that comes later in the day lol), but today was the day!

The sun was out AND it made me happy!

Can’t you “hear” the song?

Please tell me it’s not only me!

“Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do!”

So, I grabbed my camera and welcomed August!!!

How do I know it’s August?

By the almond tree that blossoms beautifully near where Chef Georgio and I live!

I then asked the almond tree blossoms, “Are You Happy?”

They said they were and smiled back at me!

I then asked the rosemary bush in our garden, “Are You Happy?”

It replied it was and shared its beautiful blue flowers with me!

The bush also reminded me “on this sunny day” to stop and smell the rosemary!

It was then the Purple Lea was shaking her plumes at me as I didn’t have to ask her if she was happy; as I could see she was and loved the “sunny day” too!

I thought I had almost lost this plant in the most recent frost, but “magically” when the sun came out today, this Australian native plant “colorfully came back to life” and was singing, “Cos I’m Happy!”

Please tell me your garden plants and bushes sing to you?

Even this native plant in my garden was not doing very well as it doesn’t like the cold (like me) either!

But today “Because It’s Sunny,” this plant started blooming fresh green buds and leaves because “it was happy!”

Maybe someone should suggest “Because It’s Sunny,” to Pharrel Williams for his next big song hit! lolNative-Australian-plant
Even our bell plant was singing “Cos I’m Happy” and was “blooming happy” also that the sun was out today!

When last it was warm (whoever can remember then lol), I started a herb garden which despite the weather, most of it still thrives!

Some of my herbs have been a tad mischievous and when I asked them who would like to participate in this post today by having their photo taken, I then heard….

“Because I’m Parsley!” to the same tune as “Cos I’m Happy!”

Even my spider plant was happy today and psst….here’s a secret….It is one of the few plants that I don’t do anything to, can’t kill it and “It’s Happy!”

While I was still in this child-like jovial mood of singing and clappy doing my Happy Dance, one of our regular Maggies (called Magpies in Australia) came up to me and he too started to dance and even with his mouth full, I swear I heard him sing “Cos I’m Happy” today too!

I reckon Spring cannot be far away, as I always get a tad giddy in a childlike “explorer of all things” way!

Because I was curious JUST the other day when WILL the sun come out again, I was VERY glad it was today!

It was fun singing and dancing in my garden and talking with my plants and shrubs!

Now I have to be careful that someone does not call for me to be tied up in a straightjacket and taken away for being SO HAPPY!
