Eggplant-pamesaen-Actifry-airfryer-recipe-whatsonthelistHands up, who would like to try my Actifry inspired Eggplant Parmesan (made with a secret ingredient )  In My Kitchen with February Love?

Thanks once again to Celia from Fig Jam and Lime Cordial for inviting me to her fun-filled monthly series called In My Kitchen.
Where is THIS year going?
It “seems” like just last week, I was sharing the LOVE In My Kitchen January!

This past month has seen MANY celebrations and will share a snippet of some of what “magically” appeared In My Kitchen with February Love.

Not in any particular order; as you know by now I don’t play any favorites when it comes to things In My Kitchen.

IMG_8051I LOVE my new Actifry!

MANY people are under the misconception that chips (Aussie lingo for fries) are the only thing that can be made with only “one spoonful of oil.”

IMG_7531While I must admit, I could not WAIT to make healthy chips for Chef Georgio (from These Three Eggs Came to Breakfast fame ), I LOVE the simplicity, versatility and not only does it fry foods a LOT healthier, but you can taste the difference and in this recent heatwave in Adelaide (heatwave #1 and #2 lol), my new Actifry really helped; saving time and money too!

Thermalina-Thermomix-machine-whatsonthelistEven Thermalina with her new ThermoSkins cossie (Aussie Lingo for costume) approved as while she also saves HEAPS of “time and money” AND has already paid for herself), she (and I) recognize SHE compliments other methods of cooking and baking and KNOWS she is on my “food pedestal” In My Kitchen with February Love.
Thermalina “hears” everything I say too!
Trivet-whatsonthelistI LOVE decorative (and functional) trivets true!

I had been looking for one that spoke to me and then “magically” this beautifully, handcrafted trivet made its way In My Kitchen with February Love.

Does anyone other than Thermalina and I think there is a female’s face “staring” back and YOU too?
Quinoa-cookbook-whatsonthelist
Quinoa-whatsonthelist I have never cooked or baked with Quinoa.

Despite having tri-colored Quinoa “staring” at me from the pantry for some time, it was not under The Vegetarian’s Complete Quinoa Cookbook by Mairlyn Smith came In My Kitchen with February Love courtesy of Murdoch Publishing; more coming soon!

Lastly, Chef Georgio and I have a GREAT appreciation for all South Australia food and wine and one of our “traditions” is when we have experienced a very memorable experience with wonderful memories, we indulge in obtaining wine glasses so every time we view, it reminds us of just HOW lucky (and blessed) we are in having the most extraordinary life together.
Wine-glasses-Adelaide-whatsonthelist Quote-whatsonthelist If you could pick one or two items from In My Kitchen with February Love this month, what would it be and why?

I am always curious what you think and as you know, comments brighten my day and Chef Georgio too!

If you have, I would welcome you sharing your experience via comments today!

I would LOVE hearing what dish or recipe you tried! Thank you!

Please spread In My Kitchen with February Love and will appreciate you following me via email, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest.

In My Kitchen with February Love was fun-filled for me to blog about today and hope you enjoyed it too!

The Airfryer idea is a fantastic machine for a quick, easy 2 person meal and plus cooking was much healthier.

  2. G’day Joanne, this was a fun adventure into your kitchen. I’m definitely curious about the ActiFry, though I do not have enough room in my kitchen. I would also love to try the Freekeh, I have to say I have not ever heard of it nor have I noticed on the shelf of any market. I’ll be looking for it now.

  3. I’ve never used an Actifry before but it’s very intriguing! Your eggplant parmesan dish looks absolutely divine. I love all of the goodies you received and I would love a pasta maker of my own!

  4. Joanne, your pasta making paraphernalia and personalized wine goblets (and grateful thoughts about living a blessed life) caught my eye. So did everything else in your February love post, including Thermolina’s new outfit. 🙂 Wishing you a lovely Happy Valentine’s Day!

  5. Fun things this month – lots of books and grains ;D Thanks for sharing!

  6. Well you certainly have plenty of fun new toys!:) I love your custom made thermomix and the dish if beautiful. Have fun with the quinoa, I think it tastes great.

  7. Hi Joanne,
My hand is reaching straight up into the sky, I soooo want to try your eggplant it looks delicious.
I love that your kitchen is balanced with the healthy and the zumbo, I look forward to seeing what you make, I haven’t made anything out of it but I love the pictures. I have never got Freekeh as they say but did buy my first bag of burgur, so give me 10 years and I’ll catch up to the Freekeh lol
thanks for a great virtual visit
    cheers Jason

    Hi Joanne
So much to see in your kitchen this month.
I love all your gadgets- but the actifry and those chips look wonderful!
And I love quinoa- I make a flat bread using Quinoa and spelt flour that everyone in my family just loves.
You are certainly ready for Valentine’s day with all your molds and pans and CHOCOLATE!
    Thanks for sharing!

  9. Beautiful post, Jo! I love it all – please don’t ask me to pick – from the gorgeous chocolate moulds to your very cute custom Thermaskin! Your actifry sounds like it’s going to get good use, and you KNOW I love your Turkish trivet, right? I’ve got a small collection of them too! 🙂 xx

  10. So many cool things. I saw the Actifry a while back, curious about the one a lot. And yes I have cooked with Freekeh, I like it.

  11. Wow Joanne, so many good things I know not where to begin!

  12. Gustoso says:

Wow you have been busy in the kitchen. I love quinoa tabbouli.

  13. Vaishali says:

The Actifry sure sounds like a great appliance to have in the kitchen– I could eat fries everyday!:) Heaven. Thanks for sharing all the goodies in your kitchen, Joanne. I love that beautiful trivet. And yes, I see the “face”. 🙂

  14. I’ll take the wine glasses and the quinoa cookbook. You have so much going on, Joanne – so much in one month. I love your actifry – I haven’t used one but they sound fantastic. And Thermolina is looking very pretty! xx

  15. Sandy says:

I really enjoyed this sneak peak in your kitchen this month 🙂
    Quinoa cookbook looks good!
And I have heard sooooo many good reviews about the acti-fry but I haven’t got one…. yet 😉

  16. Fascinated by the fryer, does it really only use one spoonful of oil? Look like you’re in for a busy month Joanne with new books products and machinery! Thanks for the peep!

    • Thank you for your lovely comments and yes, after last month’s celebrations, this month is time to “batton down the hatches” lol I can confirm the Actifry ONLY uses one spoonful of oil and had I not experienced it first hand, I would be a non believer too! Please look forward to what more with the machine I do!

  17. I love that pasta rack & will be going to out to look for one. I usually end up with trays of pasta all over my kitchen to dry. I’ve not heard of the Actifry but it’s sounds great. Now I wouldn’t mind a taste of that eggplant parm – just to test it out.
I’d never heard of Freekeh until I saw it on Glenda’s site – she made a nice looking loaf of bread with it. I guess at least here I’d need to check out specialty stores for it.
You’ve got some great things in your kitchen.

  18. All so lovely, but I think I would pick the cookbook! I keep hearing how good qunoa is for you! I need to experiment! Can’t wait to see what you create!

  19. Oh wow, you have so many incredible and lovely things in your kitchen! Would love to come and test your air cooker.
    Have a super day.
    🙂 Mandy xo

  20. That actifry thing has always intrigued me. I haven’t eaten anything made in one but it does catch my eye. I want that pasta drying rack! Great post, Joanne and lots of lovelies in your kitchen.

  21. So many great utensils and machines. Those fries look really tempting.

    Cheers,

    Rosa

I love Freekeh : last year everyone seemed to be making Goerge Colombaris’Cypriot salad with it.Your post has reminded me to make it again.

  23. You have some amazing appliances Joanne! I love the look of that quinoa cookbook too…and your heart moulds…lots of lovely things happening in your kitchen 🙂

  24. wow, what a collection! I love new products and I wish you well to use your air fryer 🙂

  25. Trudy says:

Glad your up and running now Joanne!!

  26. Wow so much stuff Joanne. Hope you get to use it all in February!

  27. You seriously expect me to pick one or two???! I am struck speechless at your treasures so I’m pretty sure you can’t hear me:)
OK I’m picking Thermalina because I want to find out what all the fuss is about – I think I’d miss the chopping and stirring of my cooking too much to be honest but I’m still curious. And I’d pick the wine glasses full of South Australian wine so I could sip whilst I stirred.

    • Thanks Nancy! Based on last month’s celebrations, this month is VERY busy In My Kitchen with #Febraury Love!
Thermalina would be so chuffed (excitedly happy) you picked her. I went from not wanting to know about Thermomix to now I can’t stop talking about it and seriously, in just time saved, wonderful dishes prepared, I honestly don’t know HOW I lasted this long without having one…Feel free to email me or pm with any questions you have and thanks for brightening my day!
First bottle of South Australian red wine is on me! 🙂
