Fettuccine-carbonara-recipe-Thermomix-whatsonthelistWhat Fettuccine Carbonara Recipe Inspired Me Today?

Let’s cut to the chase, as it is ThermoFun – Techie Tuesday – Fettuccine Carbonara by Leonie!

Here’s a little insight into how my mind was working today, in this FREEZING Adelaide weather!

I wanted something “dreamy, creamy and quick!” lol

Did you ever have one of those days where you are STARVING and when you open your fridge and pantry, despite both of them being fully stocked, there does not seem anything to eat?

Your mind then goes into overdrive, as it is hungry and all it knows is it needs to be fed….quick and now!

It would be a bonus if it was something healthy!

So with a few “quick clicks,” I found Leonie’s recipe and what a great way to satisfy a hunger, asking Thermalina my Thermomix for assistance, which not only saved me time but money, and everything was made right in the Thermomix bowl!

A BONUS for me today too!

As REALLY….who wants to spend lots of time making something to enjoy, only to have a massive clean up at the end!

Not me!

I “sense,” not you either!

While this is a free recipe by Leonie, she started her ThermoFun Facebook page back in August 2012.

Leonie shares, “Nothing saddens me more than hearing that people don’t use their machines to the fullest extent.”

It is now her mission to try and change this, one recipe at a time!

So that is how the ThermoFun Club came about!

ThermoFunkies Club is for anyone who wants to make sure they are getting all they need to make their Thermomix life easy!

CLICK HERE to find out more about becoming a Thermofunkies Club Member; membership does have its privileges!

I personally love the weekly recipes sent by email via ThermoFun, FREE access to more than 50 documents compiled by Leonie, the great hints and tips, the monthly cooking challenges; I could go on!

Did you know all of the members recipes are collated into one e-cookbook which will be emailed for free to 2015 members?

You now do!

The Thermofunkies are truly a “unique and varied” group of people from all walks of life, but who share their passion for ThermoFun “making decadent food at home!”

The club members provide guidance and support daily “every step of the way,” should someone have a question or does not initially have to confidence in their cooking skills.

No question is ever too silly or stupid, as we all have challenging days and some days, all we need is a little nudge of inspiration to help us on our way!

What I personally like about Leonie’s recipes, is I always learn something along the way, and Leonie always inspires people to be “as creative as can be!”

With FANG, one of my food nicknames, RAVENOUS, this fettuccine carbonara recipe was healthy, delicious and um, FANG licked the plate!

I do hope you are laughing “with me” now!

Before I share my adapted recipe, I thought for the sake of those who do not have a Thermomix, or even for those who do, but have never made spaghetti in the Thermomix, it is a fun thing to view! (CLICK THE LINK!)

As you know by now, I am passionate about minimizing food wastage by using up ingredients I have on hand; hence today’s recipe!

  1. That carbonara looks amazing! To think its a recipe club that shares delicious italian meals like ones my grandma would make, I need to sign up for Thermofunkies. Despite the fact that it is the weirdest name I have ever posibly heard! LOL

  2. What a lovely looking meal! Thanks for sharing your recipe at the #AnythingGoes Link Party.

  3. Krystal says:

I love that you can get recipes from that service. I never know what to cook on busy weeks but this would certainly get rid of the guesswork. I have never had fettuccine carbonara before that I can remember!

  4. Yummy! This looks great! I love a good pasta dish. It’s like the ultimate comfort food! I’m always looking for new ones to try out. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Awesome recipe. Just in time for me for a small gathering.

  8. That sounds like a really good recipe. And boy do I like carbonara! It was always my favourite food when I was younger so I have very fond memories. Thanks for sharing 😀

  9. I haven’t heard of the Thermo products before. But this dish just looks amazing. Everything about it looks like it would be the perfect blend of flavors. And bacon just makes everything better.

  10. Angie@chasingmyhalo says:

I haven’t heard of these Thermo products, but that recipe looks great! I often am standing staring into the pantry trying to figure it all out;-)

  11. Omg! Way to make me hungry!!! This looks so yummy! Wish I had a plate of it 🙂

  12. Omgoodness…that first picture is drool-worthy. As I read the recipe, I had no idea that beans and peas were a part of them. I don’t think I’ve ever had pasta that had beans in it before. And, I thought for sure that was bacon in the pasta…to my surprise – it’s salami – that’s different for me.

  13. Carbonara is a personal favorite. If one is not careful it is easily scrambled eggs and pasta with some bacon and peas. This looks wonderful.

  14. michele d says:

That recipe looks so good! It’s making me crave fettuccine. One of my favorite dishes!

  15. Stephanie says:

That looks really delicious! I’m going have to check out this Thermomix thing. I’m assuming it’s some sort of a blender?

  16. Jaime N. says:

  20. Yum! That Fettuccine Carbonara looks delish! Definitely on my list for this week! Thanks for sharing!

  21. Heather says:

This is the first I’ve heard of ThermoFun, but I totally love a good pasta, and this one looks like it hit the spot.

  22. First of all, that looks fantastic! I’ll have to check out Thermofunkies club. I love the idea of getting new recipes all of the time. I love trying out new things.

  23. Dogvills says:

I like using skinny evap with my Carbonara. I have got to try using salami instead of bacon.

  24. Rosey says:

I’m sorry to hear it’s cold there (unless you like the cold 😉 ). It’s good to find something creamy, dreamy, and quick, lol. This sounds delicious.

  25. My daughter just found a similar recipe that she wants to try! She’s my cook 🙂 She’s been cooking dinners since she was 15 and is almost 21 now. I am pretty sure she’s never gonna be able to move out 🙂 I love carbonara!

  26. Emma says:

Yummm! now you have me craving for that! This recipe is great and will try for myself. What can you recommend in replacement of the gourmet salami?

  27. Oh wow….this looks fantastic! I’ll have to look more into getting a Thermomix now that I’m intrigued by it!

  28. Growing up, I had always been confused on the difference between carbonara and fettuccine. I just have the familiarity that they are both white cream-based, a bit salty, and filling pasta. It’s great that you can have access to an e-cookbook especially if you enjoy cooking!

    • Good question! Carbonara is an Italian dish that is made with egg, cheese, pepper and bacon! Fettuccine is the type of pasta I chose to use with this dish, but other pasta can be easily substituted too!

  29. Okay, it is time to do my research – find out more about Thermomix… Aha! Now I know what it is and I am amazed at all the things it can do! It can cook, stew, boil and simmer liquids, chop and mince, steam, blend, mill, grind, crush, knead, whisk, grate, emulsify, puree, weigh, control heat and clean itself! Oh my. This is THE only kitchen appliance I would need. Thanks for sharing. Great carbonara recipe too.

  30. Michele says:

I have to find one of those Thermomix machines–I’m not quite sure what it is, where it is sold or if it would fit into my kitchen-all I know is it sounds like a life saver! This recipe sounds delicious!

  31. Carbonara is one of my favorite pastas. I have tried using ham, but not salami. I bet it’s tastier because salami has a lot of flavor. I will have to try this one of these days.

  32. This is one of my favorite pasta recipes, so decadent!

  33. Gourmet salami what. You had me at that. I love salami and this looks so good. I know I didn’t eat much pasta this summer but I knot during the winter it will be on in my house

  34. Cabonara is one of my favorite pasta dishes! This looks so good! thank you for linking up at Pin Worthy Wednesday! pinning to the board 🙂

  35. Frea Bolt says:

How would it work with skinny evap instead of cream ?
    Frea

    • Thank Fre and it certainly would work with skinny evap, but remember the skinny evap has more sugar than regular and perhaps creme fraiche might be best but if you need to, in small quantities!

  36. theninjabaker says:

Your pasta looks perfect, Joanne. Brilliant idea to add gourmet salami =) If I lived in Aussie land, I’d definitely join the ThermoFun fan club =)

  37. Leonie says:

Thank you so much Joanne! I always love your blog posts and love the way you tweak recipes to suit your taste and to use up food in your fridge so no waste! 🙂

  39. Looks like a comfort food to me Joanne!!! Yum!!

  40. I’ve never seen a better looking carbonara – talk about fully loaded!! Now I must see if I can make it too. 🙂

  41. Woah! This is the most loaded carbonara I’ve ever seen!!! I really love it! PS So jealous you have a thermomix!

  42. cheapethniceatz says:

Love your Thermomix posts and the recipes. Maybe one day Ill have one but glad we can still make it without by adapting, the pasta looks mouthwatering.

  43. Spaghetti Carbonara has to be the ultimate comfort food and yours looks wonderful, Joanne!

  44. This sounds delicious and I love the addition of extra vegetables!!

  45. That name – Thermofunkies – is a fun and clever name, great job guys! And yes, please add veggies as often as possible. Fun and creamy can also have a dash of healthy 🙂
